LES to be featured in book on education

Over the last four years, LeRoy Elementary School has made significant changes in the way they teach literacy. The changes have produced incredible results, and LeRoy will now be featured in a book on education.
Linda Dorn is a professor of reading education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she is the director of their Center for Literacy. Dorn has had multiple books published through Stenhouse Publishing, including Apprenciceship in Literacy, released in 1998.
This summer, Stenhouse is releasing the second edition of Apprenticeship in Literacy with the final chapter focusing on the work done at LeRoy Elementary School.
“It's been an incredible journey our literacy initiative has taken,” LeRoy Elementary Principal Erin Conn said, “We are very proud of the hard work that so many people have put in for our students.”
